This feels almost like a secret place and you have to know the password to get in… But no, it’s for everyone. You walk in and there is a large array of hot dishes in trays and you pick three and you get rice and soup and more than you can eat for $10. I got the basil chicken, the tofu with fish and fish sauce which was amazing and egg plant that was good but not great. I think the meets are going to be the strong suit. I still give it five stars it’s fantastic place and all the locals know it so you have to not come exactly at noon but you’re gonna have to wait in line as you can see. The people who run it are super nice also.

This review is for Jiangbing served only on weekends at this location. When I lived in Beijing in the late 80’s I would start my day with one. The kids who ran the street food cart made my crepe with 2 eggs, diced spring onion sesame seeds on top with Youtiao and hot sauce wrapped inside. This restaurant nailed it for me. They spoke perfect English and made mine perfectly. There is no other dish or menu item similar to this in the world that combines these flavors textures and taste. A decent blend of protein carbs and spice to start the day or fill an empty belly. Will definitely be back.

They recently opened for dining in although you still order at the counter. This is great because food is better when it's fresh, particularly Jianbing Guozi. They serve made-to-order dishes as well as prepared food. The traditional breakfast foods - soy milk, Doufu Nao, and You Tiao are all good. They serve Tianjin specialties, including Jianbing Guozi and many varieties of Baozi. They also have a fairly large menu of traditional Chinese dishes, including Suan Cai Yu which is very good.

Recommendation: braised pig trotters 卤猪蹄. In expensive Shandong restaurant providing rich options for Chinese style breakfast. Take out only. No table for dine in. Waiting time can be long but we were lucky as we come when they just open. They provide authentic options like soy milk 豆浆, fritters 油条, Chinese savior crepe 煎饼果子, jellied bean curd tofu curd豆腐脑. We tried 旮旯汤 and braised pig trotters 卤猪蹄. There are many different flavors of buns like 猪肉茴香、菠菜、天津小肉包。 As I am from south China, I can feel the love towards sesame sauce from people in the north. They even have it in the soup. I am not used to it but it tastes good. It is very interesting to try. Soy milk and fritters are ok and my favourite is the pig trotters~

Note this 5 star is specifically for the Weekend Special menu. This place is takeout only. The Tianjin style crepe with fried stick, steamed buns with pork and Chinese chives pancake were all excellent, especially washed down with fresh soy milk. They also were really quick service. Super filling, we ended up ordering too much. Have to reheat at home since it's takeout only, but this is a very solid choice for Weekend Chinese-style breakfast if you don't mind reheating.

Good hole in the wall Chinese food. We ordered a variety of options for dinner and ended up having to pack a lot of food, portions are huge. I didn't like one of the tofu dishes but rest of the food was generally tasty. Docked a start due to how oily everything was.
